ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

18+ years of age
Active Duty, Veteran, First Responder, or Other (you know if & how you've served)
Diagnosed with PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Substance Use Disorder (SUD), or other
30 days sober, if diagnosed with SUD (we are not a detox or critical care program)
Willingness to remain sober for program duration (if SUD; vessels are "dry")
Spoken English
Basic set of cold weather outdoor clothing/boots (equipment list here)
An adventurous spirit
Being kind & courteous toward others (being an "a-hole" will get you dropped at closest port; at your expense to get home)
Willingness to learn & work as an adventure crew member (not a luxury or Caribbean cruise or glamping backcountry experience; everybody on a crew will be useful)

Sailing, Adventure, or Expedition experience
Military service
Combat-related PTSD, Depression, or Anxiety
An Honorable Discharge (if you volunteered, you are welcome)
Severe trauma event (no minimizing! Your trauma is your trauma)
Prior rehab, counseling, or treatment (beneficial but not necessary)
Sea legs (or any legs, for that matter, if you have prosthetics...or do a land-based expedition!)
High-dollar, name brand adventure/expedition gear (other than waterproof boots, we provide all necessary foul weather gear while on the boat or in the backcountry)

We have limited spots and limited resources. Our application process is NOT to determine who is deserving, but who is determined
Our programs are designed to be challenging. Many days will be very difficult, although rewarding. Healing is not easy. Neither is a sailing or backcountry expedition in the highest latitudes in the world. Rugged, resilient, curious, and determined people will always thrive as a crew member in one of our programs
