Bryan Zipp - Board Member Extraordinaire

I grew up in Washington State where I met my wife of 29 years, Robin. We have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

I am a US Army Retiree and Combat Veteran with over 20 years of Active Service. During my service I had the opportunity to travel to eight different countries, including combat deployments to Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq where I received the Combat Action Badge.

When I enlisted in 1995 my goal was to do my 4 years and get out, for some reason I kept raising my right hand and reenlisting. All of the sudden I had been in the Army for 10 years and couldn’t come up with a good reason to not finish out the last 10 and retire, so that’s what I did.

When I was getting ready to Retire, I had no idea what I wanted to do or where we were going to move to. Through the family grapevine I found out my Aunt was selling her house in Montana, so I called her up and asked her if I could buy it, she said yes!

I am currently employed by the State of Montana as the Western Montana Program Supervisor for the Montana State Veterans Affairs. Besides my Program Supervisor duties I am also a Veterans Service Officer, I help Veterans and their family members gain access to Federal Benefits from the Veterans Administration.

This is how I met Romer Shaw. I was so impressed with his dedication to our fellow Veterans, when he asked me to become a member of his Board of Directors I jumped at the opportunity. Growing up in Washington I spent a lot of time on the Pacific Ocean with my Dad fishing for Halibut, Rock Cod and Salmon. Being on the Ocean has always had a calming effect on me. I believe Hi-Seas will provide this same opportunity for our First Responders and Veterans.

In my down time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, riding my motorcycle and panning for gold.
